After the Windows 98 logo appears, on the next screen,
under the info about the CD-Rom drive, the words "Too Many
Parameters" appear on one line. How can I fix that
problem?

You autoexec.bat has either over 255 characters on a line or the line has LFN's in it
and need to be in quotes. Copy/paste the contents into a response in this thread for
review/advice.

Just find the line in autoexec.bat that has C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\MSCDEX.EXE
in it and type "REM" in front of it.
Do the same thing in config.sys that has the line DEVICE=OakCdRom.SYS (or
possibly some other CD.sys file).
Windows will find your CD Rom anyway.
The only time you'd need those would be if you booted directly into DOS
and needed to use the CD Rom.
