Default Lose Access to Win98 Server

HELP!

I have a small network with a Win98SE machine sharing a
local HD for 7 other Win2K/Win98/WinXp computers to share
files.

Everyone can access the files until one day, NO ONE can
see the Win98 Server files anymore.

I have figured out if I scanreg /restore to any prior
day, it solves the problem for 1-2 weeks, then it happens
again.

The "Server" has ALL the CRITICAL Windows updates
applied. Also installed is Norton SystemWorks 2003, Stomp
BackUpMYPC and Nero and updated. Other than this, there
is no other software installed.

Can anyone help? WHat is happening to the registry?

THANKS!

Have you checked your WIN98 machine to see if you still
have the Microsoft CLIENT listed. I believe that there is
a conflict in a file from one of the last critical updates
that went out. I have posted a message to see if anyone
has an answer....

Yes the MS client is listed.

The machine has ALL the CRITICAL updates installed. It
works for about 1-2 weeks WITHOUT BEING UPDATED, then
loses the connection.

Any other thoughts?
