Windows 98 Locks during Boot
I was trying to configure my windows 98 machine to
network with my windows XP machine. After setting some internet options and during the reboot process the 98 machine locks up on the windows 98 banner page. I need to either boot in safe mode but I can't get to msconfig to do that or boot with bootable CD (bios is set look at CD but not booting from it). Any ideas? Thanks |

Windows 98 Locks during Boot
You don't need msconfig to boot to Safe Mode.
Start the computer and hold down the CTRL key till the Windows 98 Startup menu (boot menu) appears. Use the arrow keys to select "Safe Mode" and press Enter. -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP W95/98 Systems http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm |
