Default Installing Used Windows 98SE Upgrade Disk

I have one, an Upgrade Edition of 98 "Gold" that I purchased the day after
it was released (right after I got off a plane from Canada.)

Was trying to use it today, but the darned thing is really scratched up.
Just realized I don't have a good copy, and it's handy for certain test
situations. You think MS would send me a replacement CD?

Didn't Microsoft announce in January that support for Win98 was
being extended for 2 years?
