My client bought one of these laptops second-hand, without any driver or
configuration CD. The machine has a modem socket, so I assume that there is an internal modem. However, I am unable to get Windows 98 SE to recognise the modem. The Compaq driver site makes a small number of drivers available; the modem driver is not among them. The site www.driverguide.com is equally silent on the subject. Does anyone know where I can find a modem driver for this baby? |

A modem "socket" without a modem adapter = no modem. Have you checked the Compaq
support site for the manual/specs on the machine to find out what, if any, modem it has? http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...pport/Home.jsp -- Brian A. Jack of all trades, Master of none. One can never truly be a master as there is always more to learn. |
