USB Hub/Mouse not sceen

I plug a USB mouse into the USB port and Windows sees the plug-n-play mouse.
I plut a USB Hub into the USB port and plug the mouse into the hub, and the
mouse doesn't work. Both the Hub and mouse light-up. Can someone tellme
why the mouse doesn't work?
