Default Software installation base on department

Hi,

I need to create a login script that will check for specific user's
department and if it is the correct one, it will install a new software for
all the users in that department. For example, if the 'department' =
'Finance', then it will install the software otherwise it will not do
anything.

As I am not sure of the correct syntax or attribute for 'department' field,
please advise. If possible, I would like to create batch file instead of
using vb script. Thanks!

Hi,

Why donīt you use a loginscript or better the software installation
from within the Group Policy, that is linked to the right OU or that
is filtered by DSACLs?

The users are all in a specific security group or OU. If the GPO
only applies to this group or OU, then you donīt need a script in which
you filter the "right" persons.
