windows application saving

hi all,
my problem is this
when system gets shutdown then all opened files must save
automatically.
means i am developing app for UPS. when UPS goes in backupmode then
system gets shutdown suddenly. in this case i have to write an
application through which all opened files must save automatically.
please help me
