Default Problem with Browsing

We are in the process of bringing up another subnet.

We will have two segments.
We are using DHCP and WINS

Segment A can browse Segment B without any issues.
Segment B requires a LMHOSTS file to browse Segment B. Segment A does not
require this.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Michael

Do you have a domain controller? Only a PDC can merge browse lists.

If you have a PDC (which automatically becomes the Domain Master
Browser), do you see an _MSBROWSE_ entry in WINS for the "other" subnet?

yes

It is pointing to the IP address on Subnet B.

Fixed.

I had to import a '1bh' entry as a static mapping on Subnet B.

Thanks,
Michael

Are you using two WINS servers, one in each subnet? You could have set
them up to replicate.
