Unhappy Cannot Ping the Selected CA. Please make sure the CA is running. Access is denied.

Hi guys,

this is my first post in here. I am trying to setup a subordinate enterprise CA which is a Windows 2003 domain controller.

The Root CA is a Standalone windows 2003 Standard Server and is not joined to the Domain.

On the Domain Controller UKDOM101, i have selected the option Subordinate Enterprise CA and select the default options for CSP and HASH algorithms. When i get to the screen to point to the Root CA, i enter the common name for the Root CA UKRCA101. Thats when i get the message:

Cannot ping the selected CA. Make sure the CA is running. Access is Denied.
0x80070005 (WIN32: 5)

I can ping the root ca successfully and made sure the firewall is disabled as well. No Antivirus services installed as it is still in the test phase.

So far i have looked everywhere and have been unable to find an answer. Would appreciate some help on this error.

Cheers,
Sid
