Your domain really is calruralhousing.net there is no MX record or Host records on the internet for that domain. A good place to start would be to have whoever is hosting your DNS records for the domain to add them. Next we need to have a recipient policy on the server for that domain. The users have to have the domain in Active directory users and computers. Then we need to know if mail is being delivered directly to your server or if you are popping it down from your ISP or someother pop3 server. Then we can assist in configuring your server to receive mail for the domain Look forward to hearing from you Doug Boyd dboyd@online.Microsoft.com This post is provided "AS IS" with no warranties and confers no rights |

I apologize for the quick original note. After reading both your original
responses, I will try to explain in more detail, what is going on. I have two separate domains; calruralhousing.org and now calruralhousing.net. Our organization website is calruralhousing.org, so I registered calruralhousing.net to be used for the server URL so that staff can use calruralhousing.net/remote to use RWW. That works great as a matter of fact. Previously we had a private ISP hosting our site and our email, and acting was acting as our DNS server. However, now that we are running SBS 2003 Premium, and have a direct T1 line we should be able to host our own email and website from the server, correct? Our staff has emails that are somename@calruralhousing.org. On the server, because the server is calruralhousing.net the default email address is listed as calruralhousing.net. When we attempted to make the switch from the ISP hosting our email over to hosting on Exchange running on the server box, people no longer were receiving their emails, and mail was being sent as somename@calruralhousing.NET, not ORG. First, should I change the default email on the server to @calruralhousing.ORG? Or leave it as NET? Second, I understand from my ISP that he has calruralhousing.net listed in his DNS records and is serving that information. I registered calruralhousing.net back in March. Does anyone know why when people do an nslookup the calruralhousing.net doesn’t appear? What has to be done to correct this? Does anyone know a willing DNS host? What next? Thanks for the support, Steve |

Hi Steven,
There still is no MX record for your domain. You will have to ask your ISP to create it and let it point to your public IP.
