Default Lots of "..delayed non-paging Io requests for.."

I keep getting lots and lots of event ID: 119

"The driver for device \Device\Harddisk1\DR1 delayed non-paging Io requests
for 468 ms to recover from a low memory condition."

Machine is a Dell PV745N, Cel 2.4,1Gb RAM, 4x250SATA RAID attached to Dell
CERC (Adaptec) card. OS is WSS 2003.

I suspect this to be a controller driver issue, but does anyone else have
any ideas? The machine is not low on RAM, it is running with 580Mb
Available/740Mb System Cache.

Any ideas?

It could be running low in one of the memory pools (probably non-paged
memory) which is not related to the memory installed on the machine and may
indicate that you have a driver leaking memory.

I would recommend pinging Dell support to see if they have a fix available.

Thanks for the response Pat,

Dell haven't been able to help other than suggesting I re-image the machine,
however apart from the obvious down-time I haven't changed any of the drivers
from the original image!

Are there any performance monitor counters I can look at to narrow this down?

Also, the SATA RAID controller (Dell CERC, but actually Adaptec) has no
battery-backup on it and therefore doesn't cache write operations, also the
controller has the HDD write caches disabled.
The system is running RAID5 and so I was suspecting that write operations
may be getting really queued up, are there any useful counters to see if this
is happening?

Cheers in advance,

Joel.
