You would need an application compatable with the file the data is in, a
compatable drive and a compatable Operating System.

Are you able to use your computer to list the file names on the floppy?

Is it a common file type like text or one of the popular word processor,
spreadsheet or presentation file types? Note that Microsoft provides
Windows compatable reader applications for several of the Microsoft
Office applications. Some files generated by Microsoft Word can be read
with the Wordpad program that comes with many versions of Windows. Adobe
allows free downloads of a reader program for the pdf files generated by
Acrobat.

Default retrieving data

Hi:

In essence I have a floppy that was used to save data to, and then I found
out it was no longer there (the data). I do not think it has been
re-formatted, so I am wondering if I could use a program or such to scan and
retreive the data that may still be on the floppy. It had a various types of
data, word, jpeg and such.

Thanks Mark M.

You will need to use a professional data recovery service or aquire a
utility to accomplish that. Note that even with the expense and
investment of time attempting to recover the files, they might not be
retrievable. I haven't attempted such recoveries and am unable to
proceed with any recommendations other than a Google search.
