Terminal Server sessions freezing on login and disconnect problems
Hi,
We are running 2 Windows 2K3 SP1 Enterprise Edition Terminal servers. Some
of our users are reporting problems connecting and frequently having their
sessions freeze and disconnect.
When trying to connect, users get:
The client could not establish a connection to the remote computer.
Usually they get this error twice and then successfully login. Some users
are reporting getting this error 5-10 times before successfully logging in.
The same users that get this error when trying to connect also report that
their session "freezes" on them. That it does not finish loading the
session, or they can't enter their password. Shortly after freezing up, the
session is disconnected.
I checked through my security logs and when the users report frozen sessions
I see an event 540 (logon) immediately followed by an event 538 (logoff) Type
3. The timestamps are identical.
Is there something I can do to stop these sessions from freezing up or make
it so all of our users can login on first attempt instead of the 3rd? Or
does the problem lie within the users' environments?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
