Default Taskbar doesnt display as xp

I have a Sony Vaio PCV-RX581 and after I upgraded to SP2, the taskbar
displays as if its Windows 98. When I go to Control Panel, Appearance and
Themes, Change Screen Resolution, Display properties, Appearance, the Windows
XP option does not appear in the drop down box under Windows and Buttons. The
only choice is Windows Classic. I have restored my computer and performed all
of the updates and when the computer reboots after the SP 2 udpate, this
happens. Everything else works fine.

Any suggestions?

Donald, go to Control Panel>AdminTools>Services>Scroll down to Themes
and make sure it's started.

Rich,

Thanks for your response. I tried that and it shows that it is enabled.
Still no luck. Any other suggestions?
