Slow printing

I am trying to print invitations. I have windows xp and a 4-in-1 dell
printer. I cannot get the printer to print. It says the jobs are in que...
but they stay there for hours.... what do I do?

If the invitation is saved, cancel the print job. Reboot the PC, open the
third party application, open the saved file and try to print again.

(BTW it's not a Dell printer, it's a rebadged Lexmark)

I'm trying to print to a Zebra 105se label printer with their Windows
driver, which uses LPR. It's painfully slow...about a minute for each
label. The closest KB article I can find is 816627
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/816627) which is for windows 2000.

Any ideas on how to speed things up?

We need more details on how the printer is "connected " to the Windows PCs.
LPR is used for printimg to printers that are directly connected to a network
port (Ethernet RJ-45.)

Yes. I have the "latest" drivers. This older printer doesn't support their
newer universal driver. This last time it was updated was 2001.

Luckily, my budget allows for updating old equipment... If you can't fix
it, but something newer!
