Locked newsgroups logon impossible?

Am I the only person who is unable to get into a locked newsgroup which
needs a logon and password? i.e. betanews.microsoft.com

When I enter in the logon, WinMail appends my computer name as a domain, so
I can never successfully logon.

Terry bugged a similar issue for mail retrieval...

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Yeah, this happened when I tried to use the Remote Desktop Connection. It is
easily to correct there, happily.

If you are not working for Microsoft, you might want to reconsider the email
address you are using in your posts. Thank you.

You could either change your username/password in the server properties
page, or if you want to experiment with the login dialog. .\<username> uses
your local computer as the credential you are passing, workgroup\<username>
uses the domain credential, and \<username> sends plain text.
