InstallShield issues

I have tried to delete programs through the control panel
install/remove program function and keep getting the message
"InstallShield Setup Launcher encountered a problem". Is there some
way to reinstall this function into Windows XP 5.1 Service pack 2?

InstallShield used to have an FAQ section. I see since Macrovision bought
them, it must be gone. ;-(
