Default LOST ICONS

I need to find the lost icons that were on my "Desktop" screen. How do I
put them back on the screen? Thanks for your help!

By any chance did the Desktop Cleanup Wizard run?

To restore a shortcut:

1) Double-click the Unused Desktop Shortcuts icon to display the Unused Desktop
Shortcuts dialog.
2) Drag the shortcut you want to the desktop. If the Windows is maximized, press
the Restore Down button, next to the red Close button.
3) Close the Unused Desktop Shortcuts dialog.

OR

This behaviour occurs if the Show Desktop Icons feature is turned off.
1. Right-click the desktop.
2. Point to Arrange Icons By and then click Show Desktop Icons.

To add the My Computer, My Network Places, Internet Explorer, and My Documents
icons back to your desktop:
1. Right-click the desktop, and then click Properties.
2. On the Desktop tab, click Customize Desktop.
3. Under Desktop icons, click to select the check boxes of the icons you want to
view.
4. Click OK two times.
