A duplicate name exists on the network
Do you have more than one computer on your home network? That error usually shows up when two computers have the same network name, e.g. both of them named MY-PC during the initial Windows setup.
To check what the name of the computer is:
Click the Start button
Open Control Panel
Choose Performance and Maintenance
Choose System
Click the tab labeled "Computer Name"
Make a note of what "Full computer name" is set to, and see if there isn't another machine on the same network with the same name. All Windows computers on the same network must have a unique name. If you don't have any other computers yourself, do you have wireless? Could be a neighbor attaching to your network if your wireless isn't secure.
