Default Host IP address when a router is used

I would like to be able to connect to the office compter,
which has DSL. (A router is being used. I have been
told I can not connect because of router.) I have cable
modem. My other options would be to dial in, but I would
have to share the same line as their fax machine. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If your trying to use Remote Desktop then forward/open TCP Port 3389 through the router to the
private LAN IP of the target PC. Call using the public IP of the router.

I connect through my router to my home computer so i dont
see why you cant. Make sure that you have port 3389 open
and directed to your computers IP address.
