Default Adobe GoLive on Wine?

I have had several unsuccessful tries to install Adobe GoLive 5.0 and 6.0. I
have read conflicting reports on the status of this application. What's the
level of usability of GoLive (either version) before I waste any more time
trying to get it to work?

Thanks, D Campagna

Wine is under active development. Trying yet another application under
Wine and reporting success or failure here is never a waste of time.

Of course...I'm just frustrated because I've spent days trying to get this
to work. I've read a few accounts of people getting both to work, but never
any detail of how they got it to work.

My WINE install does seem to operate properly. Acrobat 5 for Windows and
DCOM98 installed without trouble.

However, with GoLive 5, I get through the registration stage but
InstallShield hangs in install. With GoLive 6, after the registration
screen, InstallShield jumps directly to the end of the install and shows the
"Thanks for choosing Adobe GoLive 6" dialog box.

Are there and specific DLLs that I may need to pull off my Win98SE disk that
will help in the install process? Are there unresolved bugs that may be
preventing this install from completing.

I'll keep trying and I'll report back if I make any progress.

Installers, especially IS, can still be a major pain.

In the Golive6 case, I have one suggestion: after a failed installation
remove all traces of that installation before retrying. That is all
files in the installation directory, all tmp files that you can find and
all registry entries that where created. Those registry entries can be
found as *.reg files in the ~/.wine directory. They are text files and
can be edited with any editor.

Hints for usable dll's can often be found in the messages in the
terminal from where you started wine.
