Copyprotection and Wine (Warcraft3)

Hi there,

at the moment I try to get Warcraft3 to run with the latest
cvs-version of wine.
The install works fine, but I cannot start the game. The shell says:

and the game says I should insert the original disk...
But this disk is already in the drive.

Has anyone an hint how to handle this situation?

Download a no-CD patch.

I'm not trying to be funny, but that's what I had to do. The difficulty is
finding the appropriate no-CD patch with the appropriate War3 patch.

maybe you should write path in some game .ini or .cfg (im not played in W3,
then i maybe not correct

)

I don't know Warcraft, but I had a program, that every time I tried to run
it from my Windows partition, I got a message about copy protection. This
did not appear when I ran it as a "fakewin."

What excactly do you meant with fakewin? I have heared it before but I
cannot rember where this was.
Would be great if you could give me a hint.
