File Attributes and No Implementation Problems
Since I've rebuilt my system and installed Wine 20031212 I've been having some problems. Now I've been using Wine for about a year
and except for some sound issues, it's been a relatively good and mostly painless experience. But now with this latest version I've
been getting some errors that I just can't seem to figure out why...
First problem I ran into has to deal with file attributes:
fixme:file:SetFileAttributesW Couldn't set file attributes for existing file "/usr/stuff/fat32-dump/Program Files/foo/foo.cfg".
Now, I've seen this before and I moved the program and directory contents onto a linux partition and the error went away. Here's
the entry for my fat-32 partition mount:
/dev/hda14 /usr/stuff/fat32-dump vfat iocharset=iso8859-1,codepage=850,umask=0 0 0
Second problem deals with No implementation for blah imported from foobar:
err:module:import_dll No implementation for IPROF32.dll.9 imported from L"D:\\Program Files\\Quicken\\QWUTIL7.dll", setting to
0xdeadbeef
What's strange about this, is that I used to be able to run this same Quicken install under Wine previously.
Are there any remedies to this problems? It seems silly to have to go to an older version of Wine, but if the goal of the Wine
developers is to mimic the windblows environment, they're doing a good job with newer releases behaving worse than the ones before
it :-)
But seriously, I don't want to have to mirror my entire Fat-32 directory onto a Linux partition just to use Wine, that would defeat
the whole purpose of having a dual-boot system.... And the No Implementation thing is new to me, never seen it before.
Is there anything I can do to "fix" these issues or do I have to uninstall and go back to Wine-20030813?
Thanks
-William
