Default 60's songs with SUMMER or SUN in the title (love)

Recently someone were talking about creating a CD with songs that had rock &
roll in the title. Some years ago, when we still had tapes, I used to make
"summer tapes" with songs that had summer, or sun, in the title... Here are
some candidates for "summer & sun" CD's.

Now of course, a song like "Third Stone from the Sun" by Hendrix is not
really a summer song, unless it reminds you of the summer of love :-) So
brush away whatever you like from this list, and add some new...

I've tried to avoid to many covers, unless the cover versions are fairly
known. I've tried to avoid mistakes with year, but go ahead and correct me!

Well, close to the UK, Norway. But you are right, according to my own
sources it was released in 1964 in UK/Europe as well.

The Doors' album of that name appeared in 1968, while the song appeared on
the "Morrison Hotel" album of 1970, as far as I know. So this song is on
the "70's list" in the 70's newsgroup.

Interesting. My girl friend kept the Waiting album in 1970 when we
broke up. See how she affected my life? :-)

Default 60's songs with SUMMER or SUN in the title (think)

At the risk of being repetitive, you really should seriously
(emphasis) consider adding West Coast outfit The Sunrays' "Live For
The Sun", and also great American folk/pop one-shot, but a #1 one-shot
"We'll Sing In The Sunshine" by Gail Garnett if you truly want to be
representatively complete. These are quality records if different.

I'm not sure if The Youngbloods "Sunlight", from the estimable
"Elephant Mountain" album, and a sizable no small FM hit in its day is
from 1969 or 1970, but you would have a flawed list not to include it,
and it is a stronger record than many of the ones already on your
list.

I don't think I saw, if I'm not mistaken, Chad & Jeremy's "Summer
Song" on the list either, a welcome folk/pop song on the charts from
'64.
