I think so. He said so in interviews.

From Roger Ebert's review:

"The musical is being revived not because it is invaluable, but because it
contains an invaluable cultural icon: the singing, dancing performance of
John Travolta."

His name was on the record. Doubt it was a Milli Vanilli situation.

Default Did John Travolta do his own singing in "Grease" (singer)

Travolta had actually released his own album(s). I seem the recall the
single "Let Her In". So he had established himself (sort of - it was a pure
****-idol move) as a singer. And certainly, the singing voice in Grease is
the same voice as on his record.

I'd say he did but I am sure he had some major singing lessons first. Kinda
the way he had to 'learn' to talk like a Texan for Urban Cowboy.

Default Did John Travolta do his own singing in "Grease" (may)

He very well may have. After all, there was a hit record in 1976 titled "Let
Her In" credited to him. But then, of course, remember Milli Vanilli and The
Blossoms("He's A Rebel")?
My question is: Did Patrick Swaze really sing "She's Like The Wind"? Bob Radil

He DID NOT do his own singing in "Grease" but he DID do his own shittin' in
"Pulp Fiction" right before Bruce Willis shot up his colonically clensed
carcass!!!!

I think he did his own egregious acting in "Perfect" too!!!

Or maybe that there could've been numerous takes of his voice and
therefore the possibility of many 'splices' of different takes to come
up with one vocal tracks like what is commonly known about Shelley
Fabares' vocal on the 60s hit "Johnny Angel" , Andrea True's "More More
More" and (according to Chuck Negron) Danny Hutton's lead on Three Dog
Night's "Black and White".

Though Travolta is no Paul Rodgers in the singing department I do think
he sings rather well. He also does a duet with Olivia Newton John called
"Take A Chance" from their 1984 film "Two Of A Kind" that he comes off
very well on.

I have no doubts it was his voice. He had already released a **** idol
album or two, and the voice in Grease sounded like his singing range.
