Default I got those small tube amp blues...

Tim

I'm amazed no one has mentioned a Carnford Harlequin to you. this are
made in Britain 6 Watt boutique tube amps that go for about £599 -
I've seen one in Loot for £400.

They are supposed to be tone heaven and have had rave reviews
everywhere. Check Google. This sounds like exactly what you need.

I also think you'll be fine with an Orange AD15 - these are great
machines and the preamp gain is so nice that you don't have to worry
about running them at fairly low volumes. Just make sure the output
from your guitar is nice and high. Your monety is definitely better
spent on an Orange or a Cornford than a Carvin. The former two are
serious machines with pedigree.

BTW, since switching to valves last year I ditched all my overdrive /
distortion pedals. I got a hotter pickup and that and a volume knob
are all you need.

Best

Abdul
