Why, because he was, at one time, against *forced* desegregation? I am
against forced segregation and forced desegregation of private matters (tax
funded institutions should be forced to serve all citizens equally). I
believe in letting people handle cultural differences without the
interference of the government. If a shop owner wants to post a sign that
says "No <insert group here>" then I say "let 'em do it". If
discrimination and segregation are good for business then the shop owner
will be successful, if not...

If that's the case, I'm sure we can all hope for Sen. "Sheets" Byrd to join him
soon.
Oh, BTW,

Strom was never any big favorite of mine, but look at this: a guy who
happened to be a Republican dies, and here's some liberal gloating.

And to think that some Dem consultant/strategist recently said (yes, he
actually said this, now) that the Dems were getting their asses kicked
because they're too nice, they don't hate hard enough, and that they don't
think of politics as a holy war enough. I don't know WHO the hell he thought
he was kidding, but I heard the booming guffaws just standing in the street
the day he said it. They'll have to retire the word 'hypocrisy' soon if the
enraged Democrats keep saying things like that.
