Folks
We'd like to update you on our American Banjo Camp faculty. Mike Seeger will definitely be on our old-time banjo staff this year (up till now he's been listed as "tentative"). He'll be joined by Mac Benford, Brad Leftwich and Ken Perlman. On the bluegrass side, our instructors thus far include Tony Ellis, Bill Evans and Bill Keith. Our "accompanists" are Greg Canote on fiddle, Jere Canote on guitar, Peter Langston on guitar and mandolin, and David Cahn on bass. We are planning a beginner / novice program for our '04 camp. All of our teachers will participate to some degree, but our primary instructors in this area are Laura Smith (old-time) and David Cahn (bluegrass). We will add teachers and accompanists as growth in sign-ups warrant. For those of you who missed our earlier announcements, American Banjo Camp presents an intense weekend of old time and bluegrass music in the Pacific Northwest, focusing on the five-string banjo and featuring world-class instructors. There will be hands-on classes, panels, demonstrations, and concerts, not to mention plenty of time for jamming! We're located at Fort Flagler State Park, a picturesque spot right on Puget Sound near Port Townsend, Washington. Get more information and follow staff updates on our website, http://AmericanBanjoCamp.com. Cheers Ken Perlman and Peter Langston Directors |
