Ceilidh kings toast saint in Moscow

A GROUP of Glasgow ceilidh kings will celebrate St Andrews Day in Moscow
this year.

The Last Tram tae Auchenshuggle, along with DJ Greg Summers, will toast the
nation's saint at the 10th St Andrews Society of Russia charity ball.

The event - organised byex-pats in Moscow - is being held on Saturday,
November 27. Celebrations will last for more than 12 hours, starting with a
****tail reception followed by traditional Scottish dancing and pipe music.

The Last Tram tae Auchenshuggle - Davie Morrison, Gordon Roberts and Martin
McLean - will entertain hundreds of Russian dignitaries, ambass-adors and
businessmen at a ceilidh afterwards.

It will be the second time the group have attended the event.

During the night, guests will also dance to songs by Scottish artists
including Deacon Blue, the Bay City Rollers and Mercury Music Prize winners
Franz Ferdinand.

Mr Summers said: "Last year we didn't have much time to enjoy it because
everything was put together quickly. We were taken aback by how big the
event was.

"There is a real interest in Scottish culture in Moscow and it's
breathtaking there's such a connection with our country so far from home.

"We're really looking forward to the event - it'll be a great chance to
promote Scots culture."
