Godlyke Power-All or a VooDoo Lab Pedal Power 2? (distortion marshall classic reverb hello strat delay fuzz five them free time may)
Hello,
Damn me if I didn't sell off my old Pedal Power 2, which worked great,
but I needed to buy a Vox Valvetronix (why, I don't know) and had to
do some garage sale techniques to help fund it. Now that I'm back to
guitar, I'm looking for a power solution on my pedals again. This
time, I'm looking at some other stuff though as I'm seeing used Pedal
Powers go for as much as $155.
My setup is a LP Classic or Am Std Strat or Guild Blues 90 => Budda
Bud-Wah => Marshall BlueBreaker II => Budda SuperDrive 18. The
SuperDrive has a clean and distortion channel and the distortion
sounds great. It has no reverb, which I go back on forth on but for
the most part, I don't miss it. It also has a post-EQ series effect
loop. I use the Marshall pedal for a boost mostly, to give me a three
channel amp. I also like the distortion mode to use with the clean
channel as a different type of distortion sound. I'm also looking at
at least one modulation pedal and one time-based pedal. I may pick up
a fuzz pedal too, but I'm not sure. At most though, I'd have five
pedals.
As far as my setup goes, I'm leaning towards putting the modulation
and delay in my effects loop and hitting the front of the amp with the
wah and boost/distortion. My question is will the Godlyke power
solution (daisy chain and only $40) provide me the flexibility on
types of power for various effects AND noise-free operation. I know
the pedal power has sag, but that's not as important as most
distortion I want is from my amp. Anyone actually use both the
Godlyke and the Pedal Power than can compare them? $120 is big
difference and I'm trying to figure out what I wouldn't get fromt he
Godlyke. My sound is important. The only other thing I'm concerned
about is running some effects in the loop and others through the front
while sharing the same power. I guess the Furman pedalboard/power
solution apparently has noise problems with that type of setup.
Any other suggestions are welcome with respect to power, and chaining
choices, for my pedals.
Thanks,
Matt
