Default ID for instrumental disco piece (instrumental)

X-MessageID: <pb1031rbn10573@dizum2.dizum.com>

I heard an instrumental disco piece on the Dish Network/Muzak satellite,
I'm not able to figure out the title/artist. I know it's from the 70's
because it was on the "70's hits" channel (the mono one, 934).

It's a little over 4 minutes long. The main "hook" or melody, they play
the same 4 notes over and over. I would guess it's played on a synth.
There are 3 segments about a minute long of this repetitous 4-note melody,
separated by segments which are mainly rhythm.

I really like it. Anyone have an idea of what it might be?

Could be 'The Hustle.' Though it's got a few more than 4 notes in the melody,
it kinda fits your description. It's repetitious and catchy.

But the melody is on a flute, not a synth, and besides, they say the
title of the song every ten seconds or so. I'm guessing that's not what
he's looking for.

Could it be "A Fifth Of Beethoven"? That's certainly got a prominent
4-note hook; probably the most famous four notes in the history of
music, although of course it was that long before there was such a thing
as "disco".

Thx for your replies. I know it's not one of the above tracks 'cause I'd
recognize them instantly.

I was wondering if it might be MFSB. They had a charttopper, TSOP, in
1974. The style is similar, it's a very catchy melody mixed in with a
non-melodic drum sequence. Might it be possible they recorded an album or
had another song on the charts?

Default ID for instrumental disco piece (instrumental think sheet)

I posted a sample on the group alt.binaries.music.mp3. There are 2 posts,
the first one didn't work. The second one did, download the second one.

The subject is the same as this post "ID for instrumental disco piece"
It's a highly compressed MP3 which will download in a few seconds.

Even though they play the same four notes over and over, they change
chords several times. I think they play 2 or 3 chords, but I'd really
like to know the name of this song so I could get the sheet music.
