** these I have'nt heard as far as I know

Yes,I know some sides as listed may not be the "top sides" as we know
them but they are the sides BB chose to review

This week's teaser---in two parts

1) It might look like one of the records above covers a much more well
known artists' more famous version of the song but the record as
listed above WAS the first issued version of the song. What record are
we talking about here?

2) One of the records listed was originally released 3 years earlier.
What is it? What was the original label it appeared on? And for
maximum points what was the ORIGINAL title of the song as shown on
said original label?

I believe Ernest Ashworth's version of "Talk Back, Trembling Lips" preceded
the better-known pop version by Johnny Tillotson.

"Rama Lama Ding Dong," which was issued on Dub International 2843 in 1958 as
"Lama Rama Ding Dong."

Good call but it's not the one I had in mind---anyway Tillotson's
version only just about scrapes by as a cover since it was released at
least six months later than the Ashworth original

Yup!! Dead right!!

Technically it is "Oobie Doobie" (sic) by Sid King & the Five Strings
that actually came out BEFORE the Orbison version (the Je-Wel original
release) altthough the Big O recorded the song first.

Owing to the mess up in posting last week I never noticed till now
that Mark D. pretty well answered this one so congrats Mark!!

Already answered by Randy in another post in this thread

The Orbison one is the definitive one.

Thanks to Randy for posting about the Edsels and Dub International. I've been certain for years the initial release was on Dub Itnernational, and any number of people told me I was crazy. I grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas, and think I remember a DJ saying there was some Little Rock connection with the initial release -- maybe it was recorded there, maybe some band member came from there, something. Anyone have any idea?
