Default Record Collectors (so)

Hello, Are there any record collectors in Orange County in Southern
California? If so please let me hear from you.

Happy Holidays to all,

Nick

I'm sorry to report that there are no record collectors at all in Orange
County, or, in fact, in all of Southern California. There are two reasons
for this odd situation:

-- because the PVC used to make LP records was an oil by-product, LPs were
outlawed under California's stringent antipollution laws. It was for many
years illegal to own or sell LPs in California.

-- Southern California, long known for its trendiness, banned turntables as
soon as they ceased to be chic. The punishment for owning a turntable in
SouCal is social ostracization.

The combination of the total lack of available LPs to collect and turntables
on which to play the nonexistent LPs has resulted in the paucity of record
collectors in Orange County.

Hoping this helps you in your search,

Greg

Obviously Graphic Queen is politically correct, having absolutely NO sense
of humour. It is obviously a Legend in her own mind.

Hey Graphic Queen,

Contrary to what's been expressed here, I'm literally steps away from
the O.C., collect records, and stand ready to field - if not answer -
your question(s).

I HOPE that you are joking. If not this the biggest load of crap that I
have ever seen. It's so dumb it's surreal.

There is STILL a law in Southern California banning vinyl records.
(Especially EPs). Most people here don't know what they are so they use
them for frisbees. Thus messing up our parks and beaches. Thus the law.

There are even gangs who use vinyl LPs in drive by LP throwings.

Those of us who know what vinyl records are must keep them hidden. Usually
in a closet where they warp from the heat, As you know we are not allowed
to have basements out here. Our almost daily earthquakes may some day
increase in ferocity and buiildings may collapse in on themselves. At least
the ruins will be on level ground.

That gray guy never did anything about this law banning vinyl records.
Governor Arnold has said : " I vill make repeeling zis law one of my top
priorities". But noyhing yet.

So next time read a little before you post such nonsense.

Sincerely, Gary 'Gatsby' Nichols
