This debate has reached a point where people are just getting emotional
and not dealing with the facts. I'm following Zee and bowing out of it. Just one more thing: Seeing that we have the drummers here, I have a question for them (at least the jazz ones, anyway). Why is it that 99%+ of drummers when given space for a solo believe that the best solo consists of random and very loud SMASH! THWACK! BANG! on everything they've got. True, not every one of them is guilty; worldwide, there are something like 10 to 20 jazz drummers who play tastefuly. But what do the rest have against good taste and subtlety? To avoid unnecessary cluttering of the newsgroup, please reply to my address above. Thanks. -- Posted via Mailgate.ORG Server - http://www.Mailgate.ORG |
