Default The great trumpet players

Its mainly US people who use this news group and those players do not play
regularly in
the US so they are not as well known as they are here in Europe.

I'm a fan of Hardenberger, though I could use some recommendations on
specific recordings for his solo work...!

I agree about Antonsen and Hardenberger (although Hardenberger's CD of
picc & organ music w/Simon Preston is pretty out of tune).
I would also highly recommend Sergi Nakariakov; his "No Limits" CD of
string transcriptions (w/Ashkenazy conducting) is absolutely
astonishing, technically and musically. I heard him live last summer,
and he is the "real deal." I describe him as the Jascha Heifiz of the
trumpet.
Another amazing artist - on the natural trumpet(!) - is Niklaus
Eklund. Glorious playing.

Hakan is amazing!

Endless Parade is a wild CD, but he sure plays the bejeeezus out of the horn.

Sergei is pretty good too

So many good players, so much time to be amazed!

Best,

Trent
