Default What do you want played at your funeral? (them think time)

Following several recent threads - what do you want played at your funeral?

Bear in mind, it depends on whether you want your funeral to be a time
of mourning or a time of celebration;

Would it matter if it was live or recorded?

and, to my mind, it should share with people a piece of music that sums
up for them what music has meant to you in your lifetime.

For me the obvious one would be Schubert's An Die Musik, though I would
have to weigh the relative merits of something by Janacek, something by
Webern, something by Bach and maybe a Beethoven sonata or three. I don't
think my funeral will be in the sort of place that could do justice to
Bruckner.

Default What do you want played at your funeral? (may love think)

It's becoming a cliche, but the Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis,
instead of being one of the saddest pieces of music to me, summons up
feelings about love, platonic, romantic, and spiritual. I can think of no
better purpose for music. That may not have been the composer's intent, but
those are the feelings the piece bring about in me.

Right now, that's what I would choose, assuming I can't pelt a captive
audience with every piece of music I ever liked -- or will like.
