This is unimportant enough, but…
when John is singing “Oh My Love” in the studio with George and the band,
he’s sitting at the piano with a filled ashtray and a can of some sort of
soda (pop). Which kind was it? An old can of Dr. Pepper? Seriously.
Yeah, there are more pressing issues on my mind, but it haunts me!!
Thanks for any replies.

Actually, it is a Dr Pepper can. You can see it clearly. I also recall
seeing a photo in a book somewhere of the same session and it’s really
clear that it’s a Dr Pepper can. I just can’t remember what book I saw

Here is an interesting line from an essay by Richard Porter called “Gimme Some
Truth” on “The Making of Imagine”:
“We even see John and Yoko buying a summer house that they want to put on the
island in the middle of the lake at Tittenhurst. While the summer house is
being put up the young Julian Lennon is seen running around the grounds. It is
also fascinating looked out for trivial things. For instance I noticed the
amount of Dr Pepper John seemed to be drinking during the sessions.”
It seems only right to me that one of the members of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely
Hearts Club Band should be drinking Dr. Pepper!
