Someone on another message board has req’d;
Does anyone have or know where I can get hold of a copy of the music for the
sax solo in “Will You”, by Hazel O’Connor. The solo was played by Wesley
McGoogan. I have searched everywhere even emailed the company who have the
rights to the music but with no reply.
Here’s hoping you guys and gals can help.

Let us know how he gets on! This track was the reason I bought a
saxophone, centuries ago! Ive hunted for the score ever since.
Seems a bit pricey at 17 but dammit it might just be a must buy 🙂

#8 (UK) WILL YOU- HAZEL O’CONNER- WESLEY MCGOOGAN-ALTO
Speaking about this fine solo, does anyone know what happened to McGoogan? Is
he still playing?

It’s one of my all time favourite solos. After about 15 years of listening, I
very slowly worked it out and did my first transcription of the alto solo.
When I found the band arrangement from Cabot music I ordered it and the
transcribed solo was very close to what I had worked out for myself. David
Kear of Cabot was very good to deal with and send me a CD with a backing track
of all the other instruments (no vocal line) so that I can practice the alto
line. A very good 17 for the arrangement and 5 for the CD – if only my band
wasn’t in the process of falling apart we’d probably be playing it now !
I think I heard that Wesley Magoogan had had some problems (medical ?) and is
no longer playing the sax at all. Great shame if true.
All the best
Rhys David, Farnham
I haven’t got an Acrobat writer, but I can probably work out some way of making
a soft copy of my transcription if anyone’s interested.
