I have never messed with Orchids before I heard they are very tempremental
to raise.

Many of them aren't, Stinkweed, if you don't mind tending them for a year
between blooms. Anything from one plant on a windowsill...though few of us
can resist "just one more."

The few people I know of has always got to have one more. I think I might
be too impatient with a flower taking up space for a year to only bloom once
a year. I think they are beautiful though.

Treat it right and it could bloom 4-6 months easily. I have one that
opened in Feb or maybe late Jan. and is still in bloom.
Phals are long - long flower producers. One of mine bloomed for 18
months. Unfortunately I did not cut the last set of flowers off or
push it to grow better and it ended up blooming itself to death.
