Default Does Your Dog Watch TV??

I have a six month old black lab puppy named Roco and his favourite
thing to do, it seems, is watch TV. If I'm watching a movie or just a
TV show, he'll sit right beside me and not take his eyes off of the
TV....I've never seen a dog do this as much as him.

I enjoy watching him do it because it's just so funny...I'm just
wondering if anyone out there has a dog that is that involved with TV
too???

Spenser has always watched TV more than any dog I ever had before. (He also
loved to watch the toilet flush - so this may not all speak too well of his
intellect.)

Both Spenser and Sassy watch when there are dogs on. Or wolves - especially
if they're howling. Even lions and such can grab their attention. This
morning, there was a commercial with a woman calling "Here, kitty, kitty,
kitty". They were both fascinated. It must have been just the sound and
pitch of her voice because neither has ever lived with cats.

And Spenser loves to watch other dogs doing agility. It's not just the fact
that there are dogs - he gets bored with dog shows and the like. It's the
agility that gets him. (Sassy hasn't watched any yet so I don't know if
she'll enjoy it also.)

Our GSD, Brutus (we had to have him pts a few days after Christmas -
cancer), used to watch when animals were on, especially dogs. I'll never
forget when we first got him at about 1 year old, we were watching a
do***entary about wolves and he went crazy! He would chase them around to
the back of the tv and really got excited when they howled! It was so funny
to watch. If nothing else was on, we would put on Animal Planet for him to
watch. Our other dog really couldn't care less.

One dog I had did serious TV watching. My eldest son
told me that a dog that can see what is on TV and
understand it, means that a part of their brain is more
developed than dogs who do not watch TV. One time
Hap, the dog, was watching an elephant that charged the
camera. He was so sure "it" was going to get him that he
showed his teet and raised the hackles on his back.. then
backed up. It was so funny and so dear. I miss him.

Our GSD (now gone from us) used to "chase" the ball in any sporting event!
She would bark at the players as they ran on the tv.

Yep! Have a Mini Dashshund and she loves to watch the Animal Channel!
Loves the Big cats best (lions/tigers). Even commercials with animials
in them she watches and jumps up at the TV.
