Default Grit in budgies diet

I was wondering if anyone here could tell me whether or not I should use
grit in my budgies diet. I have found conflicting information on the net and
am not sure what to do. One site said to use it because it aids in digestion
and one site said they don't need it and it could possibly do more harm than
good. Help please.Thanks.

Hello,

Just IMO, but I don't think you need it. One of the accessories all my
girds get is a slab of sandstone to climb around on. It washes nicely, just
water and a cloth, and by nature is soft enough they could pick grits of
sand out of it.
I also feed my birds pellets, but as you know from the hulls all over the
place, they crack their seeds to eat them. I think if they have cuttlebone
and another source to play around with, that's probably sufficient. I also
leave sea shells in the cage, which have been washed / boiled. Their birdie
bread has crushed eggshells in it.
