Default OT - a bit of good luck

A local insurance agent has been sending me a postcard every month urging me
to call for a quote. Finally I did, since car insurance is coming up for
renewal next week and home owner's in three weeks, I figured, what the heck.

They offered me $20k more coverage on the house and $25k more on the
contents, and the same rate on same coverage on the car, for a lower premium
than my current company!

I bet that's the kicker - rates will go up.... sooner or later (preferably
sooner, in their eyes).

I am also a bit leery. But if they go up I can just switch back to what I
had before.

Would State Farm stoop that low?

I have has state farm for year here in Florida. Never had a problem in
fact ever 6 months that we don't have a problem we get a discount. I
insured everything with them with max options. Every year my stores receive
a discount. Never had a problem when I had to file claims due to the 2004
hurricanes. They never thought of canceling us

Do they have some way of knowing what the other companies are charging you,
so they can come in with a lower quote?

Yes! they would and do!...S.F offers one of the highest rates in Texas...
plus (it has been our experience) you have to fight them with any
claim!>>>The sewer lines backed up (six days AFTER the area had a heavy
rain) and flooded the house, they called it "Act of God" and denied the
claim! Grrrrrr... We went round and round with them....... :-) Liz

Probably! (It's a long way from being my "company of choice".)

How are they on paying claims? (Sometimes there's a REASON
the premiums are lower.)
