Default female tiel in distress

I have 4 tiels. Spike and Chicklet are a bonded pair. ZoŽ is a spinster,
and Little Reggie is a male who has bonded to humans and doesn't socialize
with the other birds. They all live together in a large cage.

The problem is ZoŽ. Lately she wants desperately to mate. She perches with
her head down, tail way up, warbling pathetically. The other birds
completely ignore her. It's heartbreaking to see her distress. She doesn't
even get any grooming love, because she is ignored by the other birds, and
is not very tame so she won't permit any human skritching.

I've tried removing Chicklet, in the hope that Spike will give poor ZoŽ a
bit of love but he screams his head off as soon as he loses sight of his
beloved Chicklet. Little Reggie is useless. He only wants to cuddle and
be cuddled by humans. He gets worked up and tries to have *** with my hand,
but when poor ZoŽ sticks her bottom in his face, he doesn't even
acknowledge.

I know you can get a 'bird buddy' for male tiels who have no mate, but what
can you do for a female? I've been in tears over her, and I must find some
way that she can relieve herself and be happy.

Get another male mate for her?
I doubt she is in distress at all, simply feeling horny.

No, no more birds please! I know she's horny, but so much so that she seems
to be frantic for a mate, and no-one will oblige. Is it okay to just let
her fuss like that?

Is it possible for you to care for one more Tiel? Perhaps you could get
another male for her....

Providing a mate doesn't automatically mean more birds. If she lays eggs
you can boil them and return them to her. Nothing will hatch out.
Let her 'fuss'. My U2 pleasures herself all the time on one of her toys and
seems happy enough doing it.

How the hell would following your advice of "Get another male mate for
her?" not increase the number of birds?

<snipped>

So did you have anything constructive to add or did you just get a thrill
from changing OM's nick to "the dried up old skank" ?

She means that she won't neccessarily end up with a stack of unwanted baby
birds, simply by paring a male with a female....
