if i have not had anything to do with him, but i have!!!! when i put
my hand in his cage he jumps right up on it, even if i do not put my
finger out!!! he doesnt bite me or hiss at me!!! i try to cover him
up, but that doesnt help, what could he be wanting!!! and why all the

Yes, you can give him a small amount daily, it won't hurt. I recommend a
little more interaction. I think he needs more attention. I can suggest
several things you can do without removing him from his cage. Remember, he's
just a baby and you're the momma-bird. As long as he feels like you're
paying enough attention to him, he'll be happy.

Offer a small amount of millet in the palm of your hand.
Play tug-of-war with a popcycle stick.
Whistle any tune you like.
Read aloud, anything, even recipes or TV listings.

Eat near the cage, too. Tiels are very social birds, especially at meals.

He's screaming because he wants attention. They are flock birds in the
wild and it is their nature to squawk to their flock, so he's squawking
to you! Sheesh, I rhymed with that one - LOL.

I would advise NOT to cover him up for screaming! It is only his nature
to chirp a lot.

You need to interact more with him. I bet he will turn out to be a
sweetie as my tiel is :-)
