Default wings trimmed question

Hi, i hope this post doesn't end up a cussing and verbal grapling
match as the others did
i need to know, i want my ****atiels wing feathers to be cut at all
times, ( i have alot of dangerous stuff in my house)
i wanted to know if i should cut them myself or if i should bring them
to someone
how do i cut? where do i begin to cut, i wouldn't want to hurt him???
or how often do i take him to get his wings clipped? and where
thank you so much
Jen

buy yourself I would tell you to take him or her to a vet and have
them do it. Because you can never be to careful.

It's generally not a difficult thing to clip a small birds wings by oneself,
but it isn't necessarily easy either. The birds cooperation makes a
significant difference. It's in your and your birds best interest that you
not attempt it yourself just yet. Take the bird to a vet or bird groomer
or a pet shop that provides bird nail/wing services and have them show you
what they are doing and why. Asking about blood feathers is also a good
idea if you don't really understand what they are.

If you're not sure, it's probably safest to take your bird to a vet for the
first time.

Second that. I couldn't do it. My bird would rip my hands to shreds first.

I would take him to the Vet every time he needed his wings clipped....
maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't take any chances doing it myself.

I dont understand why some of the people in here talk like thier birds are
mean, I have 24 tiels and only one is mean, she is a breeder( she is slowly
coming around) all my other breeders and tiels are very loving and
socialable, are the birds just ornaments. If they are mean, definetly trim
the wings and the bird will be dependent on you to get around. I have had a
couple of bastard birds and now I can kiss them right on the beak, it just
takes time and patience and a couple of bites here and there.

My bird isn't mean, this one can defend itself when it neds to but then it
can navigate turn ceiling fans too.

I train it to fight with a kleenex tissue and it can pick it out of the air
and rip it to shreds before you can move it.

It never bites unless feeling threatened. I caught it once with my bare
hands and I wouldn't do it again. With one hand trapping it in a thick towel
and a tool in the other there isn't enough hands to complete the job.
