Hamlet is a 4-year-old yellow lab Seeing Eye pup with allergies to grass
during the summer months. I have heard different things from different
vets, but most recently they said 1 milligram per pound is safe per 12
hrs. Since Hamlet has to work all day I generally give him 50 milligrams
every 12 hrs instead of 75, and it doesn't seem to phaze him too much.
He's used to it now I guess, when he sees the benadryl box come out he's
right there sittin and waiting. If I'm extra worried about stuff I'll drop
it back to 1 25 miligram tab every 8 hrs. Hamlet likes to sleep a lot
already, and so maybe thats why it doesn't seem to bother him. Then again
he's almost always asleep when we're not on the move, so its hard to tell.
So far he hasn't been too out of it when he works though to be unsafe.
