The cat that Darwin forgot...
My parent's cat is a bit thick. He continually does supremely stupid things
that endanger his life and health. For example, he has a tendency to jump on
stove, and I am worried about him burning his paws (he actually has burnt
his paws more than once). He continually 'calls' the dog to come and 'play'
with him (he'll call him, and the dog will run over and give him a good
chew). There are other examples of stupid things this cat does, but most
worrying is his most recent trick. At the top of out stairs, there is a
railing. On one side of the rail is an approximately 20' drop.
First off, his balance isn't the the greatest. I've seen him fall off
railings like this one before elsewhere in the house (with a short drop on
one side). But even that wouldn't worry me too much, but there is also the
matter of the dog to consider. I wouldn't imagine it would be too unlikely
for the dog to jump up and say hello, and accidentally knock him off. Also
even more disturbing, and what prompted this, was while I was watching just
now, the cat attempted to walk down the banister (WAY too steep to be
anything like possible).
I really don't know what to do, I feel like this is a time bomb waiting to
go off.
