Default cage question

my father found a cage we believe it is for a ferret because it
has multiple levels, would the multiple levels be dangerous to my
pigs?? i have a cage just fine right now, but this one is
really nice, and would give them more room, but i don't want to put
them in it if the multi level would be dangerous. any
thoughts?

Mine have a multi-level cage for outside living...they are just fine, they
seem to like it and there have been no problems, although i notice one pig
uses it much more than the other.kelvyn

let them try it...mine have a ramp, rather than a ladder....but if they can
figure it out and want to they will be ok....they may not go up immediately
though....could just think about for a couple of days....piggies never seem
to rush into things...

and as an after-thought....if they have a ladder, maybe you could stick
some cardboard on the back so their little feet don't slip through.

The more levens the better. My cage has 3 or 4 levels depending on
whther or not I place an extra level on top that I constructed myself
out of waste wood material.

If the ladders are not too steep and provide some traction :-) it will
be cool. The more levels, the better they get trained. Mine get a food
bowl downstairs and when that is depleted they need to travel upstairs
3 or 4 times the length of the cage to reacht he second bowl. If I add
the extra level they need to go a litle further.

You should see Monster. he doesn't bother to use the stairs almost. He
gets on it and like..jumps two times and reaches level one. His hind
legs are very strong. I think he could be kicking like a mule.

No offense, but .........how do you think your piggie(s) will ever get in
the top of this cage? In the description of this cage it says that its for
ferrets and chinchillas. Ferrets and chinchillas are animals that can climb
to the top of the cage, using the wires and than go from floor to floor.

But piggies cannot climb, using the wires, so a piggie will never ever get
in the top of this cage. And then it's a lot of money spent on a cage that
will not be used to the fullest.
