Piggles challenges all-comers
Boy, 1.6 kg really is what I would call a big girl..........a REAL big girl.
I just finished weighing my 4 piggies.
Chanda, the oldest, 5 y.o., female: 980 grams
Mysti, her daughter, almost 5 y.o.: 1165 grams
Kayley, unrelated female, 3 y.o.: 1220 grams
Rambo, unrelated neutered male, 1,5 y.o.: 1255 grams
None of my piggies are overweight, but in my opinion Kayley tends to be a
bit on the heavy side. Even though she is absolutely not fat, I still keep
an eye on her that she won't BECOME to heavy.
Are you really sure that your Piggles doesn't have any Cuy in her
bloodlines? When you pet her, can you feel her ribs? If not, then it's
really off to the piggy-gym with her. She really needs to loose some weight
then.
Being overweighed is not healthy. And just as in humans, it can cause
diabetes or even a heart attack (because the heart has to work so hard to
keep the blood circulating).
This is not to frighten you, but be aware that if Piggles' weight is too
high, that it is absolutely necessary to put her on a scheme of daily
exercise so she will loose some weight.
